With over 15 years of experience as a sole proprietor Architect, Bacilia Macias has built a career based on recommendations and referrals throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2020, she was thrilled to expand her practice to the Portland, Oregon area. Her network has grown from a hard-earned reputation of being a creative and skillful designer. She takes great care to understand and prioritize her clients’ desires, and then uses her expertise to bring them to life.

Over her long career, Bacilia has undertaken many different types of commercial and residential projects. Her passion and specialization lies in remodeling, custom homes, and small commercial projects. As a small business owner herself, she understands how exciting it is to bring a new venture into existence, as well as how time and money drive the process.

Bacilia’s projects have included custom single-family homes of various sizes, multi-family residences, single-family residential remodeling and additions, Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), single room occupancy (SRO) buildings, tenant improvements, accessibility upgrades, live-work buildings, new commercial buildings, commercial kitchens, cafes, nail salons, ice cream shops, and bakeries.

For residential projects, Bacilia is driven by the old adage, “the home is where the heart is.” Projects begin with a strong emphasis on the way you use and enjoy space. You’ll discuss your objectives and, through a collaborative process involving conversations, drawings, and mapping exercises, a vision for the project emerges.

Once Bacilia has an understanding of your desires, priorities, and budget, she synthesizes her knowledge of structural principles, construction, and building codes to create an optimal design that will guide the completion of the project.

Bacilia is your advocate with your contractor and relevant city departments. She’ll help you navigate logistical and bureaucratic challenges that may arise to ensure the final project not only fulfills your vision, but also meets regulatory guidelines.

Bacilia brings to her projects a collaborative, fresh, and professional attitude to ensure no stone goes unturned in bringing your vision to fruition.
